New URL, New Content, The New Society and Style...

What is this?

The blog has changed....but yes, it's still my blog (Nesha) but I wanted to present it with more edited content. Here's a snippet of what this site will focus on. I have a ton of content to post this week so stay tuned!

I will also be accepting submissions from other young writers who want a platform to present their work.

Just email: info@heragenda.com.

Society and Style

The holders of power and influence in our society are shifting in a way it never has before. We are emerging into a new era where a new medium is playing a prominent role in the successes of young people and changing the blue print of how to achieve greatness and notoriety in our society: the internet. The internet is dominating everything and changing the definition of hustle down to the amount of influential people a person has in their email blast list.

A true revolution is occurring and it needs to be captured and documented in the appropriate manner. As a participant in this revolution through her entrepreneurial ventures and inspirational spirit Rhonesha, better known as N.E.S.H.A., has taken on this task through SocietyandStyle.com. Society and Style two simple words that encompass a broad spectrum of topics of interest to her audience. The audience who are not only observers of society but are making an impact using new styles. They are taking things into their own hands: creating their own shows, launching their own magazines, and instead of buying CD’s they are downloading mixtapes. They are not following the structure of success established by the power houses in society.

Previously, established as SocietyandStyle.blogspot.com, the personal blog of N.E.S.H.A., the site is now taking ownership of its URL just as the youth are taking ownership of their culture.

Since its conception in 2005 the blog has gone through several transformations, from simply following the life of NESHA as she grows in the world of media to interviews with other ambitious young people in a section called Rising Stars. The blog was named Best Teen Blog for the 2008 Black Weblog Awards and received increased notoriety over the past year and now is the time to take it to the next level.

The new SocietyandStyle will encompass more edited content, more interviews and original videos. It will be a platform for other young people to submit content as well. All of the blogs, articles and features will have a common theme encouraging young people to reach for the stars. There is a section called Young Society that will feature young people who are making an impact on society and rising above the status quo. The purpose is to encourage and inspire young people through the stories, interviews and features.
