Fabolous Speaks on New Reality Show and Mixtape

I caught up with Fabolous after his performance at DePauw University on Friday Night.  He told us a bit about how it feels being on this college tour, how twitter affects his life, his album (coming out summer 2010) and his mixtape dropping around Christmas (hopefully).  In terms of the mixtape he said he is working with DJ Drama and really hopes that it is out by Christmas as a little "gift for everyone."  He also spoke about his reality show which centers on him and his life as a father and trying to balance fatherhood and being a rap superstar.

Check out the interview below, more footage of the show to come soon.  Asher Roth opened up the show and Fab did all of his hits!  Stay tuned to see footage of that!

Clutch Your Dreams!

Clutch magazine contacted me a few weeks ago about a new column they are doing called "She's So Ambitious."  (Special thanks Johnica! - an amazing woman herself).  I was completely honored and humbled.  The piece ran last week and I was so inspired by all the positive reaction to it.  If you didn't catch it you can view it here: ClutchMagOnline.com.

GFC: Steve-O and Saint

Ambition personified.  Listen in as Tone interviews two of the members of GFCnewyork (the team that brought you Mickey Factz, among other ventures) and how they started from nothing.  No one handed them anything, or promised them a life of success.  They didn't necessarily know where they wanted to be, but they knew where they did not want to be.  Hit play to hear a bit of their inspirational mindset.

Precious in Theaters Today

We all remember being in junior high school and sneaking to read certain books we know we weren't supposed to read.  PUSH, in my mind, was always one of those books, but after reading it, it was more than just a book with "nasty stuff and curse words" its a book about struggle, growth, transformation and hope.

Well, the wait is over, the movie entitled Precious is out in theaters today.

Vitamin O: Get Your Dose of the O Philosophy!

If you have been a long reader of this site you know that my ultimate role model is the Queen of Media -- Oprah.  I have watched her show for years but only recently began to get pulled into her other outlets online and in print.  If you follow media and statistics you know most of her audience is composed of stay at home moms, and upper middle class white women.  However, so many of her messages can be beneficial to the younger generation, and though we are aware of her presence, and may occasionally tune in, we may be missing the full impact of what she offers.  I recently signed up for her email list and so I will filter out some of the highlights and share the messages with you all.

This week I want to highlight the series focusing on Women's Happiness.  There was an article posted last week (read it here) stating that as women get older and become more successful they become less happy and overall women are less satisfied with themselves and their lives than men.  The reason why has been difficult to pin point, but the author of the article decided to do a case study of success women who are indeed happy and see what they all have in common.  Here's a snippet:
